But. We kind of are. I thought this was how we generally managed to get new people all the time. Someone on such and such site says something about F!S like, "GOD DAAAAAMN IS FANDOM SECRETS DUMB/WANKY/DUMB/EMBARRASSING", and then we're gawked at until someone enters the fold accidentally idk.

Maybe not so much as we used to be though. Tumblr confession blogs are easier to maintain and get a quick glimpse of a specific or general fandom atmosphere of ridiculousity. :'(

I think a lot of people perceive Childings to be up their own ass, but they've always seemed ok to me.

I agree; there's wank sometimes and things get ridiculous, but most of the regulars are legit.
