Take it from me -- three years is nothing. That might sound abstract, but three years goes by pretty quick. Part of why it took me so long was I had no idea what the hell I was doing. If you outline what you need to do and check off each step, I guarantee you it won't seem so far away.

A thought exercise -- don't think of 2016 as the light at the end of the tunnel, think of it as a deadline. Make a long-term plan for yourself -- what do you want to be doing in 3 years? Still in school? Or graduated? Or flipping burgers with no chance for advancement? Nothing motivates like a hammer coming down, even if it's self-imposed.
