Re: Target Credit Card -- Worth It?

(Anonymous) 2013-03-19 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
I just don't know why your parents don't give their card to sign? They can add you to their account so you can sign the charge receipt. Or just do what I do, take my mom's card for her, run her errands, sign her name on the receipt. I've never had a problem.

I can't speak specifically to Target's card, but you'd be better off getting just a Visa card or Mastercard, Discover, etc. in general instead of a store card. Store card APR's tend to be higher w/higher fees and they just tend to suck. My mother had to cancel her Macy's a few months ago and she had it only 3 months. She'd paid the card on time twice, about 1 1/2 weeks before the due date both times, at the store itself and the card co. still charged her a late fee and made her pay it. So she told them to stuff it and to cancel it. It's also happened to some of my friends at other stores.
