Rats can eat through concrete, so chances are if a rat felt trapped inside you it would work on not being trapped fast.

Wasn't there some movie with a scene where gangsters in a club trapped a rat in a bucket against a man's stomach and lit the top of the bucket on fire to panic the rat into chewing through his stomach to get him to talk? Someone please tell me I didn't make this up.

Wasn't that in Game of Thrones?

Anyway, it's probably in movies too, because rat torture is a thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_torture

I don't watch GoT so IDK. But at least I'm somewhat reassured my brain didn't spawn that gem independently.

...from the wiki I'm pretty sure it was the 2 Fast 2 Furious movie I saw it in.

It was 2fast 2 furious! I am pretty sure, at least I've seen the same scene. And also I kinda hate you for reminding me about it!

They do the same thing in Game of Thrones season 2, actually, so you're definitely not making it up.

off topic, but, wow, your icon made me do a double-take!

I was all like "wow, why is Cloud smiling?! where is this from?!" and then hovered my mouse over the icon and realized that it was the wrong series

Haha, he does look like Cloud from some angles, doesn't he? Type-0 is awesome, though, and it's a crying shame it hasn't come out in the West yet.

ayrt

Yeah, once I actually tried to look under the shadows I realized it was a different person, with a different face and all. Oops.

I've heard about it, and if I had the right console (a PSP, right?) I would totally import it. It sounds right down my alley! c:

If it was localized, I might just have to break down and actually but a PSP or a Vita or whatever comes out later that plays PSP games. I mean, between it, Birth By Sleep and Crisis Core, I wouldn't even feel so guilty! :V

If it ever does get localised you really should break down and make getting a PSP the first thing you do. I translated Type-0 over on LJ when it was first released over here and it's the best FF in years: English speakers are really missing out not getting to play it, so I hope SE get their act together and release a localisation at some point! (And yes, Crisis Core and the Dissidia games together with Type-0 more than make a PSP purchase worthwhile even if you never play anything else on it!)

sa

oh, and the Dissidia games.

Square-Enix is one sly money-making company. :o

According to my girlfriend, one of the female characters in the fourth Sword of Truth book is threatened with this. I also fire and panicked rats as a torture method in the La Femme Nikita show from the 90's, though in that case, the rats would've eaten through her face.

Yes, there was, and I watched it, in "2 Fast 2 Furious", if you've ever seen that. You can check "rat in a bucket scene" on YouTube to make sure, lol.

Not actually an answer to your question, but the threat of this (except that the caged rat is on his head) is the last straw that makes Winston Smith crack in Nineteen Eighty-Four.

...despite reading that book twice, it's only know I realized that he wasn't just freaking out because of a phobia. He was freaking out because it could eat his face. Omg. I think I liked it better when my brain refused to make that connection D:
