24. I don't understand secrets like this. I've been getting from being in hugeass anime fandoms into some small american cartoon ones recently, and OMG, no, it's not completely different. I mean, okay, it's something else, but it's not like you're forced to find you way in a cyberpunk world with purple-skinned elephant people who all speak the bastard child language of Chinese, French and German (OT3 lulz?). PLUS, WTF hell ever is so difficult to get about a fandom? It's not atom physics. Go to a message board/Lj community, read the rules, read a few posts of other members to get a vibe of what the rest of the fans is like and tadah... you're almost in.

BTW, if you're really friends with them, you will have other topics to talk about than just that one fandom. If not, they're fandom friends - they're cool, but it won't hurt too much to lose them.
