Re: 12 THE NIA HAET BURRRRNNNNS

I think you've misinterpreted the meaning of GAR.

And I've seen the whole series so far, thanks. Why does watching past 16 matter? She doesn't change after the timeskip. And I never said I didn't like anti-Spiral!Nia, just that I don't like her sparkly princess self.

Oh fuck, tl;dr

No no, I know what GAR means. I was just using the word in light amusement. She stood up to the Spiral King and Adiane, trusted Yoko and was calm when she shot at her, yelled along with Simon in the cockpit and believed in him even when it looked like he was going to lose. I can't see how someone wouldn't respect that. So what if she's a bit naive, she was brought up that way. She was brought up in isolation and was just learning about her new surroundings.

It matters because she actually DOES change. She awakens to her anti-spiral self and doesn't just sit around being pretty. Anti-spiral Nia is still Nia, the one before that was almost like a shell in a way. I can see how you would dislike such a character, but using Nia as an example irked me because even she was frustrated by how all she knew how to do was smile.

There's actually depth to her character (even though it may not be entirely obvious), and your secret seemed like you refused to believe that. You focused on the sparkly happiness about her and bashed her for being innocent yet determined. WTF.

Anyways, it's your opinion whether you like her or not. I was just stating that I thought your secret's reasons were kinda dumb. :)

Like I said, it's not Nia specifically. I used that picture because she was recognizable, and on the surface fit what I was trying to say. Sure, Nia can have depth. That's fine. Not everybody from her archetype does, and like I stated, it's the archetype I don't like.

This is the reason why I even bothered commenting on your secret. Using a character that better fitted the description would of been nice (there are tons that are easily recognizable that would better fit the description with less wank), and from my point of view, it seemed like you were focusing on her. So I spoke up.

But ah, I'm over this now. Going to go wank on someone else.

I figured since Gurren Lagann is sort of the current fad...and anyway, even if I had used another character, I still would have gotten bitched out. Such is the nature of Internets fandom :(
