If you love it and it gives you that much joy, I think it is definitely worth it if it's "either don't dance at all or risk permanent injury".

But if it's "either don't dance for a few more goddamn months while your broken ankle heals or risk permanent injury"...no, you are a complete and total fucking moron. Just WAIT. It is NOT that hard.

Unless stopping dancing while you heal means putting your entire career in jeopardy, that's beyond idiotic. In fact, calling it idiotic is an insult to idiots. And if stopping to heal does put your entire career into jeopardy, you'd better be damn sure you have a backup plan for your future in the likely event that you DO permanently injure yourself and can't dance no matter how much you want to.
