I don't think it's appropriate to talk about Star Trek fandom in this thread, because Star Trek fandom isn't done.

But Star Trek and Star Trek fandom has had a huge influence on me and on my life that it's almost impossible for me to calculate. I mean, I've been watching it most of my life, I became friends with my best friend in the world because of it, it's shaped my tastes and my ideas, it got me into science fiction more generally. It's had so much of an impact on me. And I still love it.

What do you mean it isn't done? I see it around sometimes.

That's what I mean. It isn't finished, it's still on-going. Original topic seemed to be more "what fandom that is in the past had an effect on you", and Star Trek fandom isn't a thing of the past.

I interpreted it as "fandoms that stay with you after you leave them" rather than dead fandoms. Because Star Trek is definitely that for me. :)
