Soon as you see the stain, soak in cold water with some soap. Scrub the hell out of the stain while it's soaking - i usually just took whatever it was and rubbed it against itself, but you could use a brush or something. Let it soak for a while/until you can wash it. Obviously, bleach if it's white, regular soap if it's not.

The trick is to get it into cold water before it 'sets', and scrub, scrub, scrub with cold water and soap. What my mom, sis and i did all our menstruating lives - worked for us.
