As someone who has been on the fringe of more than one real person ship, I can say Mavin (because I assume that's one of the main things this secret is aimed at because that's the ship) isn't as bad. Mostly because even though most people obviously are ignoring the girlfriends/wifes in their fics/art, they still respect them. One girlfriend of someone from the internet box podcast (I think?) said they didn't want to see fic of themselves, that message spread through fandom pretty fast and has been upheld. I know this is going to sound weird to say, but I think there is a pretty good distinction between the "real life" of things like Michael being engaged and the pretend of imagining Michael and Gavin kissing.

Ragehappies try really hard to keep their shipping out of the main tags. Basically most of us (yeah okay I'm basically one of them there you go) know that the fandom judges us and is content to do their own thing.

But then again I can always say "most people" and meanwhile there will always be those few crazies. Complaining will not make crazies suddenly stop. I'm definitely not in the fandom for the porn, but me saying so won't stop anyone. We never went and shoved the shipping in their faces, the AH employees found us. One time a fan showed Matt from Rooster Teeth pictures of people working there having sex with tigers. I think about that sometimes, and say to myself "At least we're not as bad as tiger girl."

Anyway wow this basically just became my weird justification for why I do Rooster Teeth Shipping - and I know it will probably convince no one! But that's okay.

(Also, I always found Gavin and Geoff's faces in that artwork to be creepy as hell.)
