I think some people are going back to lj, I've noticed my friends list perk up a bit in the past few months after being dead for a good long while.

For what it's worth I try to stay active on journal communities, I did have to ditch some that were extremely dead but I don't get much fandom discussion outside of livejournal so I'm still there.

Yeah, the only real problem LJ had was the DDoS attacks by FSB and SVR (and the shrieking hysteria everytime there was minor change because everyone was too lazy to give it a few days for them to adjust) and those are pretty much over. Now it is reliable again it is perking back up. All the LJ communities are seeing more action again.
