...why are you handling 3 week old kittens? Put them down and let them be for at least another two weeks.

I'm not really handling them, just poking my head in when they're active to say hi and picking them up when they stray to far to put them back(sometimes with a pause to sit on my lap). Grand total I'm usually only interacting with them for about 5-10 minutes a day.

They aren't as delicate at 3 weeks as they are at 1 and 2. Certainly I wouldn't play with them like I would an adult or have them out for hours at a time, but it's good to have a certain amount of gentle interaction with them at this age to socialize them to humans so they're friendly and not frightened of people.

I've had to bottle feed day old kittens. OP isn't going to kill them (I hope) by touching them.

This. I've had to help raise multiple litters this way [including one that produced one of my current cats]. As long as you're gentle you don't do any harm to them.

To socialize them. And kittens aren't dandelion fluff. They can be touched, albeit gently, just like any other baby critter.
