Especially because a lot of the time those "other people" haven't seemed to given enough of a crap about the person in pain while they were alive

Fucking this. Part of the reason it irks me so much when people go on and and on about how "selfish" it is to commit suicide is because I rarely see those same people doing anything they can to help a suicidal person.

Maybe this is me projecting too but I've only cried for help a million times and at best gotten no help and at worst gotten people be HORRIBLE to me for daring to be suicidal and depressed.
