You do realize that a lot of Germans get shame for their country pretty much taught in school? I don't know if you're German or not, but throughout all school types I've been taught almost everything about WWII and why as a German I should always feel shame, not raise my flag, especially not in other countries and always be polite to people who call me Nazi or scum just because I'm German.

I'm not into Hetalia (frankly, I have never read or watched it), but it's quite a normal reaction for some Germans to immediatly feel shame about liking something that is related to Germany during WWII.
We are a nation that has almost no "national pride".

Well, that's not fair :( Every country's done shit things, I guess yours just happens to be a bit more fresh in the cultural mind than most. It'll pass eventually, I think.
