Because on FS, if you frame something as a secret, you can get a nice healthy fun discussion going right out of the blue in a few minutes' time courtesy of a sudden couple dozen fans popping out of the masses to flock to your secret while everyone else focuses on other secrets.

Other places like comms might not be as conducive to sudden random discussion topics, it might be harder to quickly gather enough people to get a discussion going, or might be full of trolls and off-topic rubbish.

Pfffffft, there was CRAZY amounts of Jack Frost crossovers and fanart and general fangirling WAY before the movie even came out. The poor boy is TOTAL fangirl bait. Rufftoon (one of the lead artists/storyboardists for the film) even drew this because of it:
