You're a tumblr fan aren't you. Tumblr fans are what is killing fandom, they are all "oooh look a pwetty piccture I is da bestest fanz". It is the laziest form of fandom. You can get pretty much instant feedback on two minutes work, unlike fanfic which takes hours (and once upon a time not only took hours to create, but you had to code your own website and manage that too) create and needs a lot more effort to make the story threads hang together.

There are morons on both sides of every argument.

No exceptions.

Holy moly, are we done with this "Tumblr sucks because x, y, and z that have been around for way before Tumblr but I'm going to pretend that it hasn't" crap? I have seen beautiful fanart. I have seen fanart that makes me want to pull my hair out. I have read fics that made me cry. I have read fics that made me cringe. And all of this has been around since before Tumblr and will be around long after the site inevitably collapses under the combined weight of poorly-spelled posts and "fangirl feels."

You don't draw do you?

+1

With few exceptions any work of quality takes its sweet time regardless of medium.

Yeah, I'd bet that too.
Someone who can draw an ok picture in 2 minutes probably has years of practice behind them...

Then again, I figure you can draw figure sticks and get kudos in some (blind) parts of fandom, but still.

As long as the stick figures vaguely resemble the fandom OTP and are bumping against each other in suggestive ways, yeah.

I wanted to say "you're trying too hard to troll" but hey you got reactions and irritated me, so evidently the blunt, obvious trolling method works for you

lmao you're no better than the op

Okay, as a die-hard fanfic reader and writer, I have to say, screw you. And I also have to ask if you have ever drawn something more than a stick figure doodle in your life if you think fanart - especially good fanart - can take "two minutes work".

While I can sympathize with the conviction that Tumblr is killing fandom, it's due to Tumblr users in general, not fanart or fanartists, or the people who like them.
