I will forever be sad that the English-speaking fandom for this show never really took off. I meet a lot of fans of it, but there's not much on the fanwork-output side of things. :/

And by "fanwork," I mostly mean fic and meta. There's a ridiculous amount of art, but again, it mostly comes from across the globe.

Really? There's lots of fanfic on the kink meme and AO3. It's died down considerably since the show ended a while ago but still. As for meta, I see some good discussions of it on /a/ of all places but maybe I'll see what I can do about providing some meta.

Have you read memlu's fics? They're a nice mix of meta and subtle Tiger/Bunny if you ship that. Her "coda" pieces are like afterthoughts in-between certain episodes.

I remember reading a lot of good fics on the LJ community -- but that was way back when the series was still airing (so I can't vouch for the current quality, haven't been keeping up).

well, the official dub only just came out less than a month ago (only the first 12 episodes though) so...blame the industry? it was subbed on hulu, yes, but not enough nerds had hulu at the time, and now, too much time has elapsed. technology being what it is today, companies can't let a property languish for 2 years before picking it up, dubbing it, and trying to throw it at people who hate reading their anime. they have to get on that shit right away or they'll miss their chance because fandom has already moved on.

I hope it picks up from english-only anime watchers now that it's dubbed, but I'm not holding my breath

Actually the official dub has been out for a while now, but until the DVD/BD release it only was available via itunes and a dumb service known as Neon Alley where you can't watch stuff on demand and it was PS3 only.

Unfortunately dubbing takes time and more money than simulcasting it through Hulu plus the Japanese companies cockblock them from releasing it on a physical copy until after a certain amount of time has elapsed after the Japanese release since they don't want people to reverse import. Also I believe in T&B's case Viz was actually considering getting different American sponsors but it fell through judging by the unchanged Japanese ones.
