Deny, deny, deny. It's what happened when Castiel was macking on a lady demon.

Oh, please tell me Meg-bashing hadn't become a thing. I thought she was the one SN female (apart from Ellen) who wasn't universally picked-on.

(Moot point now, of course, because fuck.)

[Spoilers for Goodbye, Stranger]

The last episode of spn generated a wonderful push of Meg-centric gifs, graphics, and fanart.

Unfortunately, though, Meg bashing has been around in various shades for a while. And her death did not let it up.

A collection.

I knew I shouldn't have clicked. Gaaah.

Her death is bothering me even more than those of characters I've liked better, because I had such high hopes for a character who'd been central from near the beginning being an important player as the show winds down.

Here's the thing - I have no problem with Sam, Dean, or Cas, or, in theory, the romantic or platonic relationships between any of them.

But on the show itself, any time a situation is paired down to those three (or any two of them), it becomes a repetitive mess of secrets and lies and animosity and resentment and temporary sweetness that you can't trust because they're going to be back at each others' throats by the next episode.

Amid the steaming pile of WTFery, craziness, and over the topness there are two shit stained kernels of "you may have a point"s. Namely that the queer-baiting without follow through can be super-distasteful. I only made it to Season 5 and I was fed up with it. And that with those two characters, if the being "Castiel" had possessed a woman (which if I recall did happen briefly in one episode) then they in all likely would have had a romantic liaison. And then just as likely gotten boo'd off the stage as seems to happen with every other character.

Although seriously. Has something changed on this show recently to make people think they would actually go through with something like that? I mean I'll hope for a long shot "never gonna happen" pair, but my expectations are so low in the dirt you'd need a spelunking kit to find them.

Hopefully not with that particular woman, since she was a preteen girl.

Not that that stops some fanfic writers. Dammit.

Please accept my hearty "I agree!" sentiments.

I still wonder what the hell is wrong with some fans who really believe the show would ever make either of it's very hetrosexual lead characters gay (or bi, but I a cynical enough to also believe that they show writers don't understand bisexuality). I mean, 8 seasons of Dean Winchester the Manwhore? Four seasons now of his and Cas's relationship not going beyond friendship?

Umm... I've been called cynical before, but my cynical side doesn't even get any air time on this matter because it's blatantly obvious they won't make Destiel canon. Not the way shippers want it (with face-sucking and full-on porn at least).

Actually, my cynical side sits back and says that I don't want it canon because I don't think the writers would get it right (see above bit about bisexuality). Leave the slash to fanfic, where it gets treated right.
