This is one of the few shows where I love the entire cast and find them all likable, and the friendships between every character really endearing (Carter & Fusco makes me happy and sad and all tumblr-like regarding the "feels").

Even the bad guys, except for that one HR head honcho cop whose actor is good at making me hate him.

Don't forget to check out the fanlore page as a mini guide on where to look for the fandom. It used to be blank, but folk recently started updating it o/

Fusco was the biggest surprise for me with this show; I had no idea how much I'd end up loving him.

Also, I don't ship Carter/Reese, but when he was being all big-brother about how her new boyfriend better not mess with her, it was just so ridiculously adorable. And the way you can just feel her itching to smack both him and Finch for poking their noses in so often...I could go on.

I've been watching s2 with my little sister, and I have to keep whining at her instead of at the tv, "WHYyyyyy don't you just ask for help, Fusco? Don't do this on your own! And GUYS, can't you see he's obviously in a corner don't you let him become a number this is a preventable disaster-in-progress D: CARTER you're breaking my heart, he needs an ear just give him your ear your EAR please!"

And yes that was such ridiculous adorableness. I'm really glad the series doesn't take itself too seriously, and that it has these nice moments that point out how invasive the Finch and Reese are, but how much they appreciate and look out for Carter and Fusco too even though Reese has too much fun pretending he doesn't

He does have fun with that. "Hey!"/"...well, maybe two."

And even the minor characters are good; I lol'd at the frequent-flyer POI in the last new ep. (No, trying to kill him really hasn't worked out that well for anyone.)

And it's also surprising how well it maintains the light tone while still being a fundamentally dark show; you can still see very fatalist tenancies in both Reese and Finch, but neither of those elements takes away from the other or makes the contrast seem unrealistic...

Ooh, do you mean Leon? The other LOST expat? That bit where he's weirdly concerned for the Nigerian Scammers and then kneecap knocking time just strolling right on in was perfect. I'm pretty sure I could get sick of him if he was overused, but I love that his comedy seems to fit the show also perfectly. It's a nice blend of avarice and cowardice that still makes him sympathetic. somehow.

And even though they're not regulars, I'm really digging the little ensemble of assets these characters are becoming (Zoe, Leon, maybe Shaw, etc.). It's almost like I'm a watching a heist movie lately.

There were quite a few episodes I didn't quite like in the first season, mostly in the first half, as they just felt too cold. But so far this season has been pretty much hit after hit for me. The only one I feel I could have skipped was the ep with the annoying (imo) hacker student.

Well, I do have to say about the annoying hacker student ep we did get Finch's immortal "Math is not a punishment!"

Plus backstory. It's sort of opposite X-Files - the case of the week stories have the best backstory bits.

I still have to shake myself about this show since I've hated almost everything else JJ Abrams & the Nolan bros have done but I love this show. Confounding.

Sorry for the late reply, but you're absolutely right about opposite X-Files! I've been trying to get my sisters into that show by compiling a list of episodes they can't skip by basically taking out over half of every season. But that's kind of like anti-reccing the show lbr.

Not too familiar with either Nolan's work outside of the Batman TDK movies, of which I only really liked the second. But to be sure, especially after LOST's pretty anti-climactic ending, I was wary that POI would turn into a fest of too many characters with no resolution for anyone's story arc. afaik, this show seems to know where it's going?

I know what you mean about Person of Interest knowing where it's going - as opposed to the other shows I like from last season ::cough::Suburgatory...Revenge::cough:: They really haven't had any horrendous missteps.

It's funny, I was a stone XF fan and the eps I remember now are the Monsters of the Week, as opposed to the mytharc when during the show, I was heavily into the mytharc. I think I burned out on the mytharc the summer of the movie when I read I don't know how many fics with the end of the world and Mulder and Scully walking across a deserted Middle America uphill both ways in flip flops. That's why I never saw the movie "The Road" - read too many ripoffs!

Whereas, put me in front of "Bad Blood" or "X-Cops" and I'm eating it up with a spoon.
