I much preferred Pitch Black over Chronicles. I try to think of it as being a companion movie instead of a sequel, I get much less irritated that way.

See now, I love Chronicles. But I'm a Sci-Fi epic fan and I appreciated it being a spiritual successor to the first dune movie.

I think Pitch Black was a better movie, but I still enjoyed Chronicles. Actually just rewatched both of them the night before last. I'm very curious to see where they go from here.

Huh. This makes a lot of sense actually. I kept falling asleep to Chronicles and I constantly fell asleep to Dune too.

Agreed. I loved Pitch Black. I don't think I would have hated Chronicles if it were just some other movie, but as a sequel to a movie that surprised me with how fabulous it was, it was seriously disappointing.

I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Chronicles. Mostly because I can't even enjoy it on its own merits. Plus, Jack. I'll be forever bitter about Jack.

Oh and like, despite the fact she took an extreme level in badass she is now suddenly attractive to Riddick so she has to have a ~lady name~ or it would be weird.

I'm more annoyed that even though the original actress was working with Diesel to get into shape and whatnot for the role, they then decided to cast someone else in her place.

That's really shitty. It would've been so much better if they'd kept the original actress, for continuity's sake (and because that was a dick move).

Pitch Black is one of my favorite films; I love its Alien-type theme. The sequel bored me, and don't get me started about what they did with Jack in the sequel. Ugh.

I love both, even if I HATE what they did to Jack in the second one.

I can't wait to see the new one :D

Chronicles lost my enjoyment when they killed Riddick's badass survivalist nature and made him a last of his kind just born that way special snowflake.

Way to kill one of the best things going for your potential franchise, writers.

Ugh. At least I still have Pitch Black.
