From what I've seen the slash part of SP fandom is pretty big because they tend to age the kids up to high school years. (Also, prettiness doesn't even matter, really. Look at the Homestuck fandom. None of the kids are drawn as "attractive," but there is ~kawaii~ fanart of them. South Park is the same way).

I'm not in the SP fandom even though I've watched every episode because I find the whole shipping thing kind of sacrilegious for that show since it's very satire-driven and not character-driven, but I do find it weird that the "hate shipping" isn't more popular for this fandom when it is for other fandoms.

Actually, when they're drawn in less stumpy proportions, and have full faces, the kids and trolls are generally pretty cute. Especially in the dialogue sections of the 16-bit-video-game-styled flashes.

Still fairly stylised in the dialogue sections, I'd say, but the big epic flash scenes do have 'em quite pretty.

Stylized, yes, but cute. Stylized really isn't a stopper for a lot of people.
