People are already jumping on you for this, but I agree. I only go to fic for smut, if I want something substantial I'll read a real book.

I'm mostly the same. Even my favorite long, plotty fics have smut and drew me in because of shipping. Only problem is assuming there is an either/or issue when there isn't. I read both fic and published original fiction (and non-fiction). You're not required to pick one and stick with it.

Even if that's the way you do it, can you still understand that other people may like for different things and that your definition of 'substantial' is highly subjective?
