I'm facepalming at you for not recognizing an obvious (if lame) joke, and for putting your "friend" in airquotes over something as petty as that.

Since I doubt you were there for the delivery of the friend's question/joke and probably don't know their friend at all, it's a bit presumptuous to say it was SO OBVIOUSLY A JOKE, isn't it? People do, actually, sometimes say cutely naive/ignorant things in all seriousness, even in relation to major pop culture icons.

It wasn't a joke. She really has no idea what Oz is, didn't know Wicked was basically a fanfic, and that this movie is in no way related to that.

And she reacts pretty badly at being corrected...

The quotes are because we're not really friends. We're part of the same group of friends, but we don't get along. Yet we're too adult to say anything...
