If you're moving into a new apartment, why not pick a room and keep cat out of it and put your herby herbs in there? Doors are for a reason, yo. And if the cat goes in? Throw his ass out.

Right? I have several rooms in my house that are cat-free zones, it's really not that hard. Sure, they get in sometimes, but then I get them out again and we carry on as before.

This sounds like a good idea. I don't have a cat, but it's a sound strategy that would work with any animal.

This is the only successful method I've found for saving seedlings from my cats.

That may be an option if we move somewhere with a bedroom, but we're looking at studio apartments and the only separate room in those would be the...most likely windowless bathroom, which sort of isn't ideal for plants. If we find a 1-bedroom, it might work, but I'm more wondering if there's any way to keep him out of the things if we end up with a studio.
