Oh, definitely. The Beatles are largely hit-and-miss for me, so I bypass a lot of the snarling fans, but I loathe it when people say they aren't influential.

Of course, that probably stems from the fact that most of my preferred music is 300 years old on average and serves as the backbone for all contemporary Western music, so hearing "Bach/Beethoven/the Beatles/Elvis/too many groups NEVER MATTERED" just irks me so bad.

I grew up listening to them, but I didn't become what I'd consider a fan until my late teens/early twenties.

Classical is good. I'm definitely not a genre-snob. I have everything from bubblegum pop to metal in my library. I am, however, largely ignorant about whoever's topping the charts these days, not because I'm deliberately boycotting but because I almost never listen to the radio. I prefer to control my own musical intake, so to speak.

I grew up with them because Momma loved them since they first rolled 'round, and I don't dislike anything of theirs, though I'm not too fond of everything.

I have NO idea who's topping charts at all because I'm the same way, actually. Classical (especially Baroque and Romantic), symphonic metal, jazz--it's all there. My friends sometimes stop in the middle of what they're doing because they've noticed how broad my tastes are.

Truth be told, I'm almost indiscriminate when it comes to genre. If the song's good, I'll like it no matter what it is. (Subjective taste disclaimers but I think I've got some pretty good taste, haha)

I'm actually going through Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list in order to expand my musical horizon even further. Sure, it's a subjective list but it offers a nice variety. I just love discovering music.
