22 - While I can see what you mean, I still have to say: Um, NO. Take it from someone who's had a same-sex romantic relationship with her RP best friend (IN REAL LIFE ZOMG NO WAI) for almost two years, now.

And that part about having sexual experience to "back your sexuality up" pisses me the fuck off, but everyone's pretty much summed up everything wrong with it so wonderfully eloquently I won't waste your precious SEX-CERTIFIED HOMOSEXUAL time by repeating it.

Making characters gay takes something away from the character as the creators intended them (http://youtube.com/watch?v=tFFETn67w6c).

Apparently he's also very much taken offense at the idea of Kurogane/Fai... who, whether the pairing's canon or not, are still characters created by CLAMP, who have several canonically gay characters. How does he know what the creators intended?

Ugh, yeah, I saw that video a while back. I'd always known he disliked the yaoi genre, but he'd always seemed pretty alright with just kinda playing along at the cons. And, I mean, I can understand him getting frustrated with it having people screaming at him about it at every con he goes to but . . . That was just way out of line and completely uncalled for.

For one thing that he even has the nerve to claim to speak for the creators (especially CLAMP, wtf I'd never heard of that. Has he actually watched or read anything by them or is he just ignoring the blatant overtones even when it's not canon?). For another that he can dare relate writing/drawing yaoi/shonen-ai to someone scribbling all over a work of art with a crayon when he probably hasn't read/seen a damn thing done by the fans, and the majority of his own personal foray into the music industry has all been covers of other people's songs.

He does the dub voice for Fai, so I'd have to go with definitely ignoring the blatant overtones. Granted, I'm really not familiar with Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, but the pairing seems pretty popular, and an acquaintance of mine I've lost touch with pointed would often point out in her journal several moments (can't recall any off the top of my head, unfortunately) that offered a lot more canonical support than some popular 'ships ever get.

Yeah I heard he did, but I haven't heard it yet; I've only been following the manga, but I'm pretty behind on it. I've heard about certain events later on (won't go into them because of the spoilers) that make it pretty blatant, but even from the very beginning of the series, Fai's been all cute and bouncy and hearting at Kurogane, calling him little nicknames, clinging to him, draping himself all over him . . . Basically doing everything he can give us fangirls ammo for our dirty, dirty fanfics/fanart.

But, really, the fact that he considers any yaoi pairing in any CLAMP fandom to be OMGHORRIBLE is really just kinda . . . hilarious in a way. Talk about not knowing the material before doing it.
