29) I agree. I mean hey, I don't blame people for being upset when having their art stolen, but I don't feel *quite* as bad for them if it's fan art.

This is, of course, speaking as someone who draws for relatively obscure fandoms, so what the hell do I know?

I wonder if your tune will change when someone takes your art, attaches their name to it and calls it theirs, fanart or not.

Seriously, unless it's art you want to sell, it's not doing anyone any harm, especially not when it's fanart. I can understand the butthurt if it's like, your own original characters, because then they're claiming stuff you made up is theirs, but when it's fanart ... srsly not much point in getting pissy over it. Maybe this is just 'cause enough people recognise my art that if someone claims it's theirs, the majority of the people who see it will know it's actually mine, but ... I just don't care.

I gotta agree, there. If someone is going to get uppity enough to watermark their fanart, they have no business posting it to the internet. That would be like writing all your fanfiction in Dingbats to avoid copying.
