School systems are imperfect and some far worse than others, but formal education is the best fucking thing the human race has going for it.

Universal literacy and the introduction of children to even the most basic of skills in numeracy, logical deduction and critical thinking benefits society and individual well-being of its members incalculably.

Formal education got us medical science, liberalism, the internet, and the timely demise of D:Ream.

I totally used to feel that way when I was in school. In retrospect, I think it taught me a lot - especially about society.

Oh dear, this BS. Formal education teaches you to think for yourself, it can hardly do otherwise if you had a brain and an ounce of spirit to start with.

I suspect what you actually mean is, your school and teachers didn't pander to your specialness and made you do homework when you didn't wanna. Awwww.
