How about Spike/Angel? It's pretty well canon that something happened between them years ago.

Main problem? I hate Angel. I spent the first three seasons hoping and praying with all my might that Buffy would stake him. I can totally get behind any fic that has Spike, Xander, Buffy, Principal Skinner, anybody, staking Angel. So clearly, Angel/stake OTP.
