No no, I get it. They thought a person was like this, but as they get to know the person more, they discover they were dissapointingly wrong.

OP should remember though that most don't put their flaws forward in most situations. That's part of getting to know a person. Just make sure your perspective isn't fucked and you are leaving for real reasons and not "they make an annoying snort while sleeping" or "minor political or ideological differences we could agree to disagree on or at least accept about each other"
