I finally found it under preferences, thank you! I kept skipping over it assuming it would be for the site's appearance for some dumb reason. Thank you though!

The hits are still showing up... I think I'm going to ask for help on AO3, I feel a little self-conscious PMing someone I don't know to ask for tech support. :/

I have mine hidden and it took like a day for the account changes to take effect. Now they are only visible to me and only if I view the individual works' pages.

It's finally working for me now! Thanks. The hits don't show up on the individual works pages for me though (which I like because that extra click wouldn't stop me from torturing myself).
