Do you have headcanons about things that happened in characters' backstories that even though there's no canon evidence to support it, you are very attached to and unreasonably don't want the headcanon to get refuted by canon?

For example, I have become ridiculously attached to the idea that Leo McGarry from the West Wing was a ridiculous James Dean-ish hard-drinking rebel when he was young. I have no reason to think this and since I'm only halfway through the show, it might very well get Jossed, but it gives me a huge amount of pleasure to think about.

Lately, I've been taken by the idea that Kevin Ryan (on Castle) was adopted somewhere between child and adolescent and doesn't talk about it because he loves his adopted family, but he has very strong feelings when people denigrate kids who grew up in the system. So far, there's nothing canon to dispute that.

This one has basis in canon...sort of. (Jojo fans, if you're not caught up yet: super minor spoilers for Stone Ocean.)

Okay. Jotaro's a marine biologist, who despite his Japanese origins (and Italian (on his grandmother's side) and English history) ends up getting married and having a daughter somewhere in central to southern Florida. Sure the marriage doesn't go well and Jolyne hates his guts, but at some point, something drew Jotaro to stay in Florida for some reasonably long period of time.

I attended a university in central Florida - about half an hour south of Kennedy Space Center, on the Atlantic coast. It has a very strong marine biology department. Before the housing boom (i.e. before Stone Ocean takes place, when Araki may have been visiting the area for research) it was a sleepy little town, out of the way, with a lot of uninhabited swamp land - much like what was represented in Stone Ocean itself, though I don't know of any prisons on the coastline. Also, one of the only things worth noting other than the university was a remarkably amazing and authentic Japanese restaurant with a very talented sushi chef on one of the major highways, between the university and KSC. (No clue how long it's been around, but it seemed to have existed long before 2006 when I arrived.)

My headcanon?

Jotaro Kujo spent a significant amount of time at my alma mater, and the town it's in is where Jolyne was born and raised. Jotaro was at least a postdoc, maybe even tenured, teaching marine biology; he's probably responsible for the punishing nature of Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, and his lab is interested in the morphology of sharks and other apex predators. He'd go to Miyako for sushi and sake when feeling homesick, though his coworkers will always try to make him come with them to Meg O'Malleys, because that place has always existed in this town and always will and he's part-English anyway, what's wrong with going to an Irish bar? We know nothing about Jolyne's mom; maybe she's a staff member of the university, or just a regular person in town.
