I too shed a single tear.

But isn't this a spoof of another similar story that is supposed to be read un-ironically? (yet is still horribly heavy-handed?)

Yeah something about how school is godless and science teaches us all to be atheists.

I think it's a parody of the Jack Chick tract on evolution, called "Big Daddy" I think if you want to look it up, that reads more or less exactly the same way (minus the SEAL, those weren't as well known when Chick wrote it).

I think it's a spoof of a lot of things. But most specifically, it's a spoof of this:

"A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.'

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-****** him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.

The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What in the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?'

The Marine calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.'

The classroom erupted in cheers!"

There's other variations of it, it's kind of a chain e-mail kind of thing. And it's also parodying other things. But yeah, it's a spoof of this. It's still pretty funny though.

There are a lot of things like this. The noble, faithful hero (sometimes Albert Einstein) defeats the evil, representation-of-everything-we-hate professor who's trying to instill a belief in everything we hate to the younger generation by using some argument that, despite sounding really illogical and generic, is something the evil professor has no defense against.

Basically, one strawman defeats another.

LOL why Albert Einstein?

Because Einstein=smart.
