I have no comment on English teeth versus any other kind of teeth, but I really really really notice when an actor/actress has weirdnesses with their teeth.

Like Gwen from Torchwood. That gap between her two front teeth drove me fucking NUTS. It bothered me so much that I started to dislike her character just because I hated looking at her teeth.

I'm the opposite - I only really notice teeth on my own when they're really unnaturally white and straight, especially if the character wouldn't actually have regular access to toothpaste, let alone expensive dental care. It's really distracting when medieval peasants have better teeth than I do o__O

This. The only time I noticed actor`s teeth was Gwen from Torchwood. I didn`t think I`d care before that.

I'm not a big fan of Gwen, I always found her too shouty, but I think the gap is sweet, I like it. I expect it's been more of an asset than not, and getting those gaps fixed always ends up looking worse and very fake.
