The thing is that we aren't, though. As in real life, even many of the people who appear to be lovely can turn out to be complete douchecanoes. And there are plenty of blatant douchecanoes in some parts.

Of course, there is niceness, and I've met some awesome people through fandom. But you never really can know. That, to me, is the scarier thing.

...In other news, I have no idea how someone would go about glorping. It sounds like it belongs with planking and milking in the 'stupid trends' pile, though.
