Oh, fuck off.

I don't know, I think the comment replied to could have used some punctuation and, you know, a complete thought, because it was very confusing.

i agree i don't think it's really as important as it's made out to be as it is all a fabrication prescriptivists live within a box and wish to force all others into it but in truth grammar is arbitrary or at the very least dynamic things like punctuation and capitalization are nice for some and i can understand appreciating and preferring both from a stylistic perspective however not everyone is going to appreciate or desire the same things or hew to the same style it is the prerogative of individuals to make such choices for themselves for all of these reasons it annoys me in the same way it does you when those who have a set way of viewing language i don't like the term grammar nazi although it fits try to push that view and insult or mock those who don't follow it it all seems rather petty and a bit self involved

Oh shut up, you pedantic, smug, self-adoring git. Failure to use proper grammar and punctuation, or at least something like them, does not make you edgy, unique, special or more intelligent than anyone else. It just makes you a lazy-ass poser.

And grammar is not arbitrary. Grammar is a system of rules. Which is the opposite of arbitrary.

Well, that went terribly awry. My comment was a completely sarcastic reaction to rivia's "oh, fuck you." I intended to show that, without capitalization and punctuation, paragraphs become messy, nonsensical blocks of text; hence they are important, and there's nothing wrong with calling someone out for not using them. I guess I wasn't over-the-top enough!

I had to skim read only this defence of voluntary illiteracy because the lack of punctuation or grammar made it practically impossible to read. This doesn't make you unique, just makes you look like a loser.

Ah, so it was sufficiently confusing, after all! That aspect of the comment, at least, has been salvaged.

The point, however? It's floating off somewhere in the ether. I'll admit I'm particularly disappointed in you, anon, since I had explained the nature of the comment long before you posted this reply.
