Granted, I love cartoons. I don't like anime-style cartoons. My boyfriend started me on Korra, and I was hooked, so he then made me watch ATLA. Uhhhh... I kind of inhaled it within a 2-week space.

Yes, that is the order they should be watched in. Kinda wish that had been my route.

I know a lot of people are critical of Korra, but Korra is all boom-boom-boom ACTION ACTION ACTION, so if you need that kind of action to get you into a show, it's a great place to start. And the bending tournaments ARE SO COOL.

I'd also suggest starting someone on ATLA on Episode 3. You basically get a summary of what happened in the Previously On, and you don't have to deal with some of the more childish aspects in the first 2 eps.

If I'd seen Korra before I watched A:TLA I might have liked Korra more because I wouldn't have known what I was missing, maybe.

But Korra was mediocre at best so on the other hand I might have just brushed it off as a vaguely pretty but totally shallow ~woo American anime~ gimmick and never watched A:TLA... which would have been a huge shame.
