After 21 months of unemployment, my dad has found a job! It's not official until all the paperwork is signed, but he's basically got a job. It's a temp job with potential for full time. It stinks a little, because he'll have to commute to Charleston, WV from DC and probably only be home every other weekend, but the pay is really good $50/hr!

Huzzah and grats to him! That's a banging wage. Hopefully he'll get tagged for a full-time position.

It's a one-year temp position, and he might be able to telecommute for some of the time. If he could do like one week telecommuting, one week home, that would be great. He'd be able to spend a decent amount of time home with me and mom, and if he does get tagged for a permanent position at the end of the year, we wouldn't have to move to West Virginia. (Nothing against WV, it's a lovely state, my grandparents live there, but I like DC. I've lived here all my life and put down pretty deep roots.)
