Kelley Armstrong's The Rising *SPOILERS*

(Anonymous) 2013-04-04 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Man, did this book disappoint me. It made the entire series of six book seem like they meant nothing. It was just...running in place, until the end, where they are still not free and once again lab subjects for the cabals/Edison group.

It seemed so jarringly different from the ending of The Reckoning. They never tried to contact anyone else, or the other projects, they didn't do anything. And they stayed for four months after they had been discovered by the Cain "pack"? Why? I thought they said they were moving right away. They just gave up so quickly, and relented to the negotiation. It didn't have anything to benefit the Genesis subjects, either. It was all geared towards the Phoenix subjects. I have to say, this is the first book of hers that I really dislike.
