Re: Finished the Tomb Raider reboot game last night

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! I wish I could make myself take my time with games, but I never can; I always want to know what happens. (And avoid getting spoiled.)

It seems well received so I'll most likely pick it up, but right now is a bad time. (So many other games just released.)

Yes! It was a spectacular play. What other games are you looking at?

Haha, I've already finished the others, but that's a lot of cash. :p (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Gears of War: Judgment and BioShock Infinite.)

I'm kinda glad The Last Of Us was delayed for June.

How long was Tomb Raider, btw?

Nice, I need to find myself some more games that I can obsess over. I'm not nearly as big a gamer as I'd like to be, but I've had a lot of time lately so I should get my ass in gear and take advantage of that.

Tomb Raider... I think I got it on the 29th of March and I finished it on the 2nd of April. I think I could have completed it in 3 and a half, maybe 4 days, if I played non-stop without sleep. But again, I had a lot of time, so I could afford to use it on video games heh heh. Also, there's a lot to explore and things to find, so that can take some more time if you're hoping for 100% completion.

If you really enjoyed how Tomb Raider felt to play, you'll probably really enjoy the Uncharted series, Infamous series, maybe Assassin's Creed. There may be some other similar styled games but I'm like you, only just starting getting into gaming.

Oh and if you think it'd be a good idea to buy the old(well, PS2) remakes of the first Tomb Raider games, be prepared for a LOT of glitches. Those games seem to dislike actually saving.

Yeah, when it comes to newer consoles, I'm still pretty new at gaming. But I've played literally hundreds of games on SNES, PS and PS2, Gamecube, Sega, etc.

I remember when the trailer for Tomb Raider came out, a lot of people were worried about it being an Uncharted copy. I might have to play that one too. But honestly, the thing that really did it for me was the character. Lara Croft was written flawlessly in this one to me, and I'm a sucker for female characters who get awesome writing.

I agree with the anon above about Uncharted. Though I haven't played the new Tomb Raider yet (and although I've loved the series since it's start), the newest Tomb Raider does look to have the same almost cinematic game-play of the Uncharted series. (Which isn't a bad thing, honestly. It works really well if done right.)

The main character isn't a female but there are a few really likable and badass female characters in the series, and most people seem to think Nate (the main character) is a lovable guy. (I certainly do, anyway.) Plus, it's very pretty and fun to play. The locations are fantastic as well.

Anon suggested Infamous and Assassin's Creed too, both of which I like (Assassin's Creed more than Infamous, though), so I'll second those as well. They're definitely different games but especially with Assassin's Creed there's some variety in the gameplay.

And 3 or 4 days seems pretty usual with games right now. That's not too long or short, which is nice!
