You mean when Zevran, Alistair, and co. showed up in DA2 and had a tendency to forget about their relationship with your warden from DA:O? (Amongst other things.)

I'd like for there to be limited references about all the characters as well. I love BioWare, but they don't always make sure your savefiles from previous games are imported properly into your current game.

Yea, pretty much. I had both a playthrough where I romanced Alistair and one where I romanced Zevran and neither of those carried over. So it was more frustrating than cute. Granted...when they worked for people they were lovely, but they DO need to work. (And I'm not sure I trust BioWare with that anymore.)

Plus, again, I like vague references that don't interrupt my headcanon too much. I'm secretly terrified we're going to find out the Warden has died or something and DNW. Leave the fate of the previous player characters up in the air.

No matter what Bioware ever says, my Warden is off having wacky adventures in Thedas with Zevran right up until the day he has to go to the Deep Roads for the last time, damn it.

But apparently, they're looking into ways for people to input the major decisions they made in the previous two games in DA3, without using saved games. So maybe we can avoid the transfer failures of DA2.

That's mostly what I want for my Warden's. Just to continue to be with their love interest kicking ass and taking names until their time comes.

I haven't kept up with Dragon Age news but that makes me hopeful. It will suck if none of our smaller decisions carry over, but the larger ones are more important and they need to get those right (hopefully at release). I will be all kinds of unhappy if DA3 is released with all the bugs DA2 had. I like that game but OH BOY if it isn't a mess.

I wouldn't mind the bugs so much if they provided a toolset for fans to fix them, like they did with DA:O. But I know that'll never happen again, because omg if people can create their own items and even build their own campaigns, who would pay for overpriced DLC? Or something, I never understood the logic behind not allowing modders to fix bugs the devs missed, for free. It would have helped DA2 the way it helped DA:O, especially with the borked romance flags.
