Is there any way you can give her an ultimatum? Like, tell her you will only reply to ONE text message between the hours of XX and XX. Everything after that first message gets ignored.

ayrt: That is a really good idea. I just struggle with trying to communicate with her, because she does not take hints and I tend to vacillate between passive-aggressive subtlety and, well, as abrasive and bratty as my comment above. (In which I sound like such a jerk. Probably because I am one. Sheesh.)
