Pretty much this. I don't watch the show, nor do I have any aspiration to watch the show, but holy shit are the majority of SPN fans batshit crazy.

I'd say the batshit fans in SPN fandom are actually pretty proportionate, given the fandom's size. Places like spn_gossip are completely and utterly insane, yes, but honestly the overwhelming majority of the fandom agrees that they're batshit and wouldn't mind banishing them from the internet forever and ever.
