If ever there were a villain who's reasons for being a villain could pretty much be summed up with: "Y'know, I feel like startin' something today," it would be him.
(At some point, he gives "reasons" that he hates Othello and Casio, but really, it's obvious even then that he just feels like messing them up and has a few petty slights that he's using to justify it.)
