I'm pretty much the opposite. I believe nobody is 100% evil (or 100% good) and I like my villains to be complex, believable characters. However, there's a difference between a good and bad backstory/motivation. All these "tragic past" things are really starting to piss me off. And when the reason for them being evil is something silly, they often just make the villain look like a whiny little brat who didn't get the toy he wanted. I like my villains to be evil but have views and motivations of their own. Not some stupid ass reason like "Because mom didn't love me I'm now going to destroy the world."
