What's that final fanart from?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
The artist would be cypher http://www.y-gallery.net/user/cypher/ and the pairing would be cecil/rubicante. from ff4 obv

Cool, thanks.

favorite? really? everything out there and your favorite part is the equivalent of picking up two dolls and rubbing their faces together?

(Anonymous) 2013-04-04 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
But these dolls are semi-animatronic and have names.

Hey, random crack pairings are amazing. Sometimes I go to the Harry Potter section of ff.net and just pick two characters and see what pops up.

there's actually a pretty good Harry Potter/Marcus Flint fic that I found that way. >.>

You aren't alone, OP. Well, I don't recognise any of the people in your secret image, but I adore bizarre crack!ships. It's my way of taking a step back from fandom instead of taking it too seriously. And knowing there's no canon justification for it but trying to find it anyway can be fun. :D

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
The only problem with this is that one person's bizarre crack pair is another person's rare- or crossover-pair that they genuinely ship.

I'm just ... trying to think of a pair off the top of my head that couldn't maybe be taken seriously if done well? I'm not really coming up with anything.

Somebody nominate some cracky and/or rare pairs? (I don't recognise any of the ones in the secret).

OP

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
So? It shouldn't matter what I call their pairings if I respect them and even enjoy the shipping.

Oh, I know. I was just trying to think of what I'd call crack pairs, and going "... No, I could probably actually see that, would it be insulting to call that cracky?" My popularity meter isn't very functional at the best of times, so I keep wondering if what I call crack pairs would be what someone else would just call a rare but perfectly serious pair.

I mean, I've read ... Havelock Vetinari/Nanny Ogg, for example, which seems pretty cracky, but it could be done well, and how would I know the difference? Like that?

DUUUUDE I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE ANYTHING TALES OF DESTINY ON FANDOMSECRETS. Also yeah, crack pairings are fun.

Y'know, how 'bout if instead of saying "art used without permission" (yeah, we figured that--it's fandom secrets, fps, why would you ask somebody if you could use a specific image for something that's supposed to be a secret), how about if you just, I dunno, credit the artist or something.

Sorry, that's been bugging me for years.

(Anonymous) 2013-04-05 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
