I'm playing both- I'm currently playing Skyrim on console, and Morrowind on laptop- no mouse I can't stand the mouse for any app for the same reasons you do, I use the pad. I play everything on the easiest settings, so no strain on my wrists and the games can be modded to be more custom difficulty if challenge is needed. I plan to move everything to PC soon, but I am so not happy with the Steam thing with Skyrim.

You can play PC with a 360 controller on the PC, and I had planned to for the ease of the controller, but surprisingly I've taken well to the keys and the pad. It was a little difficult with a little strain at first, but that's past. I think they make pads with a usb so that might make it easier for you, since you're not moving your hands and wrists all over the place, and pads have sensitivity control and all that.

But the good thing if you do play on PC and get good with using mods, especially with TES, there are a lot of mods that let you do different things and have grreater options- it is so freeing.
