Ooh.. I hate that finding errors right after you post thing.

Like you, I check my work forwards, backwards, sideways etc. I will leave it a month or even longer after finishing the first draft before looking over it with fresh eyes. I even print it out to look over as well, but there is always at least one spelling or grammar error, or a wrong or missing word. It's infuriating!

Literally backwards? Because I had a friend in high school who told me he checked for spelling errors by reading backwards word for word, since it made you focus on the words individually more. It seems to work.

Sort of, yeah. It makes you focus on each little part more than if you're looking at it normally. Different perspective and all.

It makes sense to some extent, though the reading backwards thing still seems pretty unusual to me. ~ but hey, if it works for your friend, more power to him.
