I want to agree, but probably because I don't find myself listening to "Payphone" like I do with their previous stuff. I really do like Moves Like Jagger (and Christina Aguilera's solo in the song actually makes sense) but I think they can do better.

Sunday Morning is great, probably one of their greatest songs, but I wouldn't say the rest of their songs are total bullshit. I liked their later albums a lot.

Except Overexposed. I worried about the band after Overexposed.

I personally prefer The Sun but yeah I think you have a point. They had this vaguely funk thing going that I liked but they seem to be going in more of a pop direction. I just don't really like them when they write more pop lik songs.

Through With You is my favourite, but I love Songs About Jane as a whole. I loved that sound, I'm much less enamoured of their later stuff.

Their early music just has this sort of jazzy, funk feeling, but more importantly than that it's more relaxed. I mean, I don't see them writing anything like "Secret" anytime soon. Now it seems like they're trying to fit the formula that will get them the most airplay.

"It was a beautiful song.
But it ran too long.
If you're gonna have a hit,
You gotta make it fit--
So they cut it down to 3:05."

It seems to be working, too.

"Sunday Morning" is probably the only song where Adam Levine's voice sounds decent. I have no idea what happened to him in recent years.

Did I write this in my sleep? I was just listening to this song two days ago thinking something like this.

In my opinion, their first CD outshines all the rest of their others combined. It had a great feel and some way more interesting songs than any of their other CDs.
