Dany/Drogo rant

Yeah...he was raping her in the books. I'm starting to get really frustrated by this person whose insisting "oh, she was hiding her reaction and when she told him "no", he was totes open to it and not actually forcing her until it was clear she actually meant 'no, I'm on top'". Like, by our standards, he was a rapist. I don't even think Drogo gives a flying fuck about whether he was raping her or not. But there's no scenario in which he was not a rapist in this case. Just...ugh.

It was rape and she started enjoying it? (so we're clear that doesn't mean it wasn't rape)
ext_81845: amuro ray from mobile suit gundam, in his underwear, from the doan's island episode (WTF?!)

He was a rapist but some of the sex they had in the book was consensual. The first time they had sex, I think that could be categorized as dubious consent at worst since she went into it apprehensive and not wanting to do it with him, but ended up enjoying it

The fact that it's all written by a man makes it skeevy anyway

What bugs me about the first time they had sex was in the show it was a lot more rapey while in the book she was apprehensive at first but it was uh... A much more consensual scene. Or so it seemed.

Yeah I had seen a conversation about this, I think the reason they did it that way was because it would be a lot more confusing for television if the first sex scene was consensual and then they had alternating consensual and non-consensual sex later (even though that is more realistic, I think)

she didn't consent at first, but eventually did. she's the one who put his hand up her vagina, he didn't force her to. as the person above me said, it's dubious consent at worst because she did consent after a bit.
